The presented numbers, savings and ROI are looking pretty nice. The calculations are based on studies and on experience of ourselves, colleagues and the manufacturer.

The technical ways in which we generate these savings, are summed up below. With a full renovation, all of the following aspects will be addressed.
However, a partial renovation can often already yield substantial results.

A proactive filtration

Our filtrations are fully automated; they measure, control and clean themselves. This causes us to reach the number one result when it comes to water: stability.

Once stability is achieved, little intervention is needed to keep it that way. Once on track, it stays on track. Newton’s law.

The opposite of a proactive filtration is a reactive filtration, which involves intervention when things go wrong. Chlorine, acids, etc. are all short-acting products.

Water murky = Chlorine overload. Filters dirty = Long and intense rinsing.

Vitii anticipates according to the specific needs and only uses what is necessary. We take into account:
– Number of guests in the pool
– Number of days open per week
– Weather forecast
– Pressure tests
– Control of working components
– …

We tackle things starting with the core business. The rest is taken care of afterwards.


Savings on water

Our filters clean themselves using air instead of water. Classic sand- and glass-filters rinse themselves using water of the pool. The pump therefore has to function for the full 100% during a couple of minutes.All of this water goes straight to waste afterwards. Vitii rinses using only 10% water, 90% air.

Interesting fact about this is that chlorine water is very polluting for the sewer. It kills digesting bacteria, which inhibits cleaning our waste water. Vitii’s rinsing water does not contain any damaging elements.

The filtration cleans itself fully automated. The pressure is measured in multiple places. When noticing pre-set pressure differences, the filter starts its cleaning process. Not too short, not too long, just right.

The water is all natural. An inaccurate dose or overdose of chemicals is impossible (chlorine shock, flocculants). This eliminates complete renewal of the water.

Duration of showers will be reduced by 50%. Guests don’t have to rinse of the smell and feeling of chlorine of their bodies, so they will logically take showers much
shorter in time. Only because of a more natural feeling of the water.

Efficient vortex filters separate the dirt from the water with the coarseness of a grain of sand. The vortex is automatically cleaned with just a couple of litres of water.


Savings on chemicals

No pH+ or pH- anymore. No more liquid chlorine. No peroxide, neither heavy metals.

All of the above are often harmful, despite their capacity to disinfect efficiently, they work on short terms. They quickly wear off, causing constant refilling. The water is instable, ongoing corrections are needed.

For example, chlorine causes the pH to rise, asking for extra pH- to be added, starting a vicious cycle.

We will analyse the hydraulics, the pipework. For example, a drop of the water level in the buffer tank that is too large, will cause the pH to increase. This is easily avoidable by increasing the length of the pipe at stake.

We do not add any acids or aggressive elements to compensate for the acidity level. If necessary, we use CO 2 injections to keep the pH level stable. CO 2 goes right to the core of the business, as the acidity level is kept constant by the CO 2 level of the water.
PH- and pH+ contain a lot of unnecessary elements that do more harm than good to the quality of the water.

Furthermore, we add liquid minerals and bacteria. These cause the core to be stable. The minerals are of natural origin and not harmful for humans, nor for the climate. The stability of the water causes the usage and spillage to decrease.

Savings on electricity

– We only use frequency-based pumps. These function based on a calculation the
number of guests, rainfall, dirt, so in short: on demand. Smart timers, working with
remote control etc. all add to an efficient use of electricity.
– The ventilation and suction will have to work 50% less. There is no captivating
chlorine filled air with harmful damps that needs to be cleaned.
– We ensure optimal hydraulics. This way, there is minimal pressure in the pipes,
causing a higher flow rate, with less spillage. In our analysis, we will define the knots
in the de pipework and adapt these.

Savings on heating

– We work with better forms of isolation, more efficient heating changers, optimal
circulation and heath distribution.
– By using less water, the need for new and hence cold water that still needs to be
heated is decreased. Less new water, less heating.
– The ventilation will have to work for 50% less. Same principle as with water, the
need for new and hence cold air that needs to be heated is decreased. Less suction,
less heating.

Degeneration of materials

– Quality and long lasting products make sure material costs stay minimal.
– We calculate the precise costs of necessary materials, making sure investments
are optimal. For example, a pump functions better and more long lasting when
working at 80% than at 100%.

Service costs - working hours

– We build smart pools, filters will automatically clean themselves at adequate times,
the filtration system indicates when and which specific service is due, water levels
are automatically tracked in the cloud.
– We propose a personal checklist, made for the precise needs of your specific
swimming pool. This can be used for daily, weekly and monthly check-ups.
– We have a proactive service after sales system. We offer in-house educations to
our personnel, making sure they work and keep working efficiently, in line with a
life-long learning approach.
– The service of the filtration system can be described as a visual service.

Service costs - transport

By using a remote control monitor system, we can limit the number of interventions
needed, and hence the transport costs. When local intervention is necessary
nonetheless, we can use the remote monitor to prepare this, making sure
interventions happen efficiently at the location at stake.

Experience of guests and personnel

Of course, all of the above will significantly improve the swimming experience. The
pool will look picture perfect and always crystal clear. The water has no longer that
typical chemical chlorine smell, and feels softer to the touch.
Furthermore, it is always nice for guests to know that they are swimming in an
ecological pool, contributing to saving the climate.
Also for personnel (instructors, lifeguards) it is a more pleasant environment to work
in. Whereas they would normally spend hours upon end in a chlorine filled space,
they will now improve their health by working in clean air.
The exact increase in number of guests that will follow is way over our head!
